Samsung Galaxy S4 Shipments Surpass 20 Million in 2 months

Only a few weeks back, on May 23, 2013, Samsung announced that the Samsung Galaxy S4 shipments through global channels had crossed the 10 million mark, and now reports all over the Internet suggest that in just a little over a month, the company managed to double that number.

Overseas reports are indicating that Samsung has shipped a total of 20 million Galaxy S4 devices to their global partners. J.K. Shin, Samsung’s CEO, confirmed this figure to reporters in Korea and that Samsung has achieved this milestone within 2 months. Note that this number is not total sales to customers, but specifically to carriers and retailers around the world.

Its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S III took about 100 days to get to 20 million, so the galaxy S4 is selling 1.7 times faster. This speed reportedly put the Galaxy S4 at the #1 position in shipments for Q2 this year. Despite reports (which were denied) of Samsung cutting down orders for Galaxy S4 parts, the company’s flagship is selling very well.

The Korean firm’s future calculations may get a little fragmented, however, since it has launched a number of Galaxy S4 variants like the Galaxy S4 Zoom, Mini, LTE-A, and Active to extend the reach and appeal of the device to new customer segments.
